Love drums?
Matthew has been teaching drums, percussion, music theory and composition for almost twenty years both privately and in a number of schools and colleges. He has given workshops and master classes on everything from the basic elements of rhythm, through junk percussion, world percussion and onto composing for the instruments. Former students include a number of professional musicians including the drummer for Bombay Bicycle Club. Private lessons are available both online and in person. Due to the Covid 19 lockdown only online lessons are currently available. However, that is no limit to what can be taught, practiced and worked on! If you are interested, either in a one off lesson to work on a specific area or are interested in something more long term please get in touch for more details.
Practice is not always easy at the best of times and now there are unique challenges and unique opportunities. In response to discussions with my students here are some ideas for the weeks ahead.
How do you become a professional musician? No idea... but these are some thoughts of someone who's managed to keep going for the past twenty years, so there might be something in it.
